Leading Change is a highly practical programme that provides you with the opportunity to develop an understanding of theoretical models, skills and frameworks to underpin change leadership practice. 

 

Key features of the course

Develops your expertise of topics related to the investigation, exploration and contested terrain of crime, and social harm Extends skills and insights regarding the criminal justice system, victim protection and support, civil liberties, human rights, security and social justice Ideal preparation for work where analytical and careful decision making is required, and where initiative is valued. Please note that this masters degree is not suitable for those who wish to go on to PhD level study.

Institutional Accreditation

This programme will help you to:

  • A deep understanding of different theories of change and factors which contribute to leading successful change programmes within organisation contexts
  • Identify the prime internal and external drivers of organisational change
  • Critical awareness of the key roles, behaviours, and processes in the effective leadership of change
  • Opportunity to develop own skills as reflective practitioners of change leadership
  • Develop the organisational capacity to lead complex change programmes.

You also have the opportunity to complete the assessment and achieve 15 credits towards the attainment of a PG Certificate in Leadership and Management.  

To obtain the full PG Certificate in Leadership and Management, you will need to attend and successfully complete the assessment for Personal Mastery in Leadership (15 credits) and the Strategic Leaders Programme (ILM Level 7) (30 credits). Completion of the Strategic Leaders Programme offers you the additional benefit of gaining an ILM Level 7 qualification

Our open programmes are run at our dedicated Bristol Business Engagement Centre, providing a professional environment for your training needs. Located at Frenchay Campus, with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways and Bristol Parkway rail station, it has four fully equipped training rooms, a communications and reception area.

To be able to fully participate in our course, you will need to be comfortable with using the Internet and searching for information online. Session materials are presented through a number of sources including Microsoft Word, Power Point, pdf and online workbooks and discussions.

Careers / Further study

Criminology and Law students are highly valued by employers because of their broad skillset and knowledge base.

This degree combination leads naturally to a career in criminal law. If you major in law, you could pursue a career as a solicitor, barrister, legal adviser, legal executive or paralegal.

You could also begin a career in HR, finance, teaching, advice and charity work or the public sector.

Many students train as a barrister or solicitor through the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or Legal Practice Course (LPC LLM), or undertake one of our LLMs.

If you major in criminology, you could go into research, education, social work, counselling, charity work and healthcare. There are also opportunities with the police, prison and court services, as well as the legal sector.
